Recently our close neighbor, St. Therese Church, hosted "Tent City," a home site for homeless individuals and families in Seattle. The site was just two blocks from St. Clouds, right in the heart of Madrona. Particularly noteworthy and great about the Tent City set-up is that it affords couples and families the opportunity to live together, rather than to be separated by gender as is true in virtually all other formal living places for the homeless.

In keeping with St. Clouds' mission of "providing a place where orphans come to find a sense of home and family," owners Paul Butler and John Platt opened up St. Clouds kitchen to the community to come together and cook dinner for our new neighbors in Tent City. We invite any and all of you to join in. We hope that by the act of creating a meal together, we can build more connections among ourselves and offer a warm welcome to the folks currently living in Tent City. Many Tent City residents will be present to take part in the cooking.
